There’s No Shortage of Money
Yesterday, a very worried friend called me from out-of-state. She’d been planning to come to TX for some time and had just given notice at her job—a big decision which to her which meant she’d reached the point of no return. THEN she saw a newsclip about Texas which said that unemployment was higher than previously thought, etc. She was worried out of her mind that she wouldn’t be able to find a job when she comes to Austin.
Here was my response to her: I see so many opportunities that I don’t have enough time to work on all of them.
I admit—I am an optimist. I always see the silver lining—sometimes I even miss the cloud (that’s where my down-to-earth dh helps me.)
Nearly every week I hear some variation of the following from one of my lenders: There’s no shortage of money; there’s a shortage of good projects.
If you’ve been turned down for a business loan, there’s one of four reasons why:
1) You’ve looked for funding in the wrong place(s),
2) Your project was presented poorly,
3) The market really is not funding that type of project right now (The market is a changeable beast, though…)
4) It’s a really poor project and no one would ever fund it.
